How Can I Test If My Integration Is Working?

We have compiled some tests for you to check if your Friendly Captcha integration is fully functional and secure.

Check What Happens if the Solution of the Puzzle Is Wrong

Go to the web page where the widget is embedded.
Request a puzzle for the form to be tested. (With the default settings you just have to start filling out the form.)
Then go to the Friendly Captcha widget in the source code of your page. Therefore, make a right click on the Friendly Captcha widget and select "Inspect Element".
Look for the input tag containing name="frc-captcha-solution" for v1 of Friendly Captcha. In v2 of Friendly Captcha the input tag has the attribute name="frc-captcha-response.

Captcha Solution (The exact value is always unique)

Manually change or delete some characters of the value of the input tag.
Submit the form to be tested.

Two things can happen:

The form can not be sent and you get the feedback that something went wrong with the captcha. This should be the case if implemented correctly.
The form can be sent and the request is delivered to you. This should not happen, an integration bug seems to have been made.

How Can I Upgrade My Current Subscription?

Upgrading from the Starter & Growth Plan

 1. To upgrade from your current Friendly Captcha Plan, you must to log in to your Friendly Captcha account. You can login to the dashboard here: [Dashboard](https://friendlycaptcha.com/login/).

If you do not have a subscription on your account, or if you are using the non-commercial plan, the upgrade process is slightly different from the one described below. You can find the upgrade process for those plans at the end of this article.

How Can I Implement Friendly Captcha?

Once you have created the account and verified your email address, you can log into your account and you will see the overview.

Dashboard Overview

On the left side you will find the main navigation.

To get started, you need to create an application under Applications. To do this, click Create New Application and enter your data. After you have created your application with the Create Application button, you will find the application in the overview. Under the name of the application you will find the sitekey, which is needed for the later implementation.

After that a API Key needs to be created. This can be done under API Keys.

|| Note: The API key will be displayed only once! Copy the API key to a safe location where you can access it later during implementation.

There are several ways for the final implementation and placement on your website. For your custom implementation please contact the developer of your software or refer to our documentation.

How Can I Delete My Account?

||| Please note that only the account owner can request an account deletion.

To delete the existing Friendly Captcha account you need to navigate to Dashboard >> Settings. In the top right corner, under the User, there is a red button with a garbage can. Clicking on it will open the Account Deletion Request in a new window.

|| This is the only way to cancel your Friendly Captcha subscription! If you want to pause your subscription and use your account later, please contact our support team!

We are always interested in improving our captcha and service. Therefore, a reason must be selected why the account should be deleted. This helps us to further improve our service.

After clicking the button "Request Deletion", a deletion request will be sent to our support team, who will review the request for security reasons and then permanently delete the account.

After the successful deletion you will receive a confirmation via e-mail.

How Can I Change the Endpoints?

||| Please note that there is a difference in the endpoint between v1 and v2 of Friendly Captcha.

If you want to change the endpoint of your Friendly Captcha integration, you need to check if you have one of the Professional Plans such as the Advanced Plan or the Enterprise Plan. You can check this under Billing.

With the appropriate plan, you can select the desired endpoint as follows: Go to the Applications menu item and click on the Manage button for the application you want to configure. Now you can select the desired endpoints. Confirm your selection by clicking on the Save Changes button.

How Can I Use the Integration Check of Friendly Captcha?

Friendly Captcha has a built-in integration check, so you can easily check if your Friendly Captcha integration is done properly.

The integration check runs automatically and checks for all the steps needed to successfully use Friendly Captcha. The integration check only works for the first integration of your application. All following integrations for this specific sitekey have to be checked manually.

After creating an application, the integration check is displayed in the upper right corner of the application overview. A more detailed view will appear at the top of the settings page of your application.

Depending on the settings of your application you will find the label v1 or v2. Both labels are displayed if you have activated v1 and v2 in your application.

Pending (waiting for requests). This is the initial status for the check. This status means that the sitekey was created successfully and that there were no "puzzle get" requests.
